Press Release

Russo Lee Gallery is also pleased to present Working Through by guest artist Brenda Mallory. Mallory uses found and common materials to create abstract works inspired by the natural world. This exhibition will include wall sculpture and painting on handmade paper. Brenda Mallory has received a Ucross Fellowship for Native American Visual Artists, a Visual Arts Fellowship from the Native Arts and Culture Council as well as grants from the Oregon Arts Commission and the Ford Family Foundation. She holds a BFA from PNCA and a BA in Linguistics and English from UCLA. A member of the Cherokee Nation, she lives and works in Portland, Oregon.
