Biography

An MFA graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art, Tom Fawkes taught at the University of Oregon and the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee during the 1960s. From 1972 to 2004, he taught drawing and painting at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. Fawkes has received numerous awards, including a fellowship from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as a Rockefeller Foundation Center residency in Bellagio, Lake Como, Italy. His works are included in numerous public and private collections, including those of Safeco, Microsoft, the Seattle Art Museum, and the Portland Art Museum.
