Russo Lee Gallery continues our exhibition program In the Office this May – June with invited artist Lisa Occhipinti. Transforming things, rather than always creating anew, Occhipinti constructs her works so that they lend their own histories. Creating bespoke sculptural assemblages and textile works from natural and found materials, this exhibition features the Limbic series and the Samplers series. The Limbic series is an exploration on the affinities between our bodily forms and unmitigated forms of nature. The Samplers are a series of needleworks that use the archaic forms of embroidered samplers as a starting point.

Lisa Occhipinti has a BA in fine art, and has studied in France with Parsons School of Design and in Italy with the School of Visual Arts. Occhipinti’s work has been included in recent museum exhibitions in California, New Hampshire and New York, in the United States, as well as in Ontario, Canada. She has been in residence at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson VT, and at the Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodstock NY.  Her work is in collections worldwide including UCSF Mission Bay, Wheaton College Permanent Collection, Dana-Farber Institute, Kaiser Permanente, Nordstrom, Westin Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels, Hotel Lutetia Paris and Ritz-Carlton Hotels.
