Press Release

Joe Macca was born in Portland, Oregon in 1970. He received his BA from the University of Oregon, followed by his MFA from Portland State University in 1999. His work has been featured in solo and group shows across the country and in Portland, including a 2012 solo show at Marylhurst’s Art Gym, which presented both his pristine colorfield abstractions and postcards and ephemera that explored more of the internal complexities of living and being an artist in the 21st century. Macca’s work has been featured in New American Paintings, Artweek, The Oregonian, and the Portland Mercury.

In a guest exhibition, Joe Macca shows ephemeral acrylic abstractions informed by nature and emotion.
